Justine Bieber got candid on Instagram this week, dedicating a post to one of his most infamous past mistakes. The “Anyone” singer shared a photo of his 2014 arrest with a lengthy caption detailing how he felt about his past legal trouble. In it, he explained that it was “not [his] finest hour.” The singer also admitted that he was “not proud of where [he] was at in my life,” but has grown significantly in the years since then.

Bieber wrote, "7 years ago today I was arrested, not my finest hour. Not proud of where I was at in my life. I was hurting, unhappy, confused, angry, mislead, misunderstood and angry at God."

He added a short joke: "I also wore too much leather for someone in Miami."

The caption continued, "All this to say God has brought me a long way. From then til now I do realize something. God was as close to me then as he is right now. My encouragement to you is to let your past be a reminder of how far God has brought you. Don’t allow shame to ruin your 'today.'"

He added, "Let the forgiveness of Jesus take over and watch your life blossom into all that God has designed you to be."

Justin concluded with a sweet message to fans. "LOVE YOU GUYS WITH MY WHOLE HEART," he wrote.

Many of Bieber's celebrity friends congratulated him on the post.

Usher replied, "AMEN."

Scooter Braun commented, "Proud of you."

This is not the first (nor is it likely the last) time that Justin has spoken about his faith and how it has helped him.

In fact, the singer posted a few days later another message of hope for his followers: "Don't be discouraged, you are not alone in your suffering. You are forgiven. You are valuable. Jesus is here. He is the reason. He is the meaning. He is life."
