Justin Timberlake Slammed As ‘Distateful’ For Joking About His DWI Arrest At Boston Concert: ‘Not A Joke’

Justin Timberlake just made headlines—again—and not for a good reason—again. The 43-year-old was arrested last month for driving while under the influence, and his mugshot went viral after the police officer who arrested him not only didn’t recognize him as an A-list celebrity, but also reported that Timberlake muttered under his breath, “this is going to ruin the tour.”
Apparently, though, Justin’s perspective on the arrest has changed, because at his recent TD Garden performance in Boston, he was cracking jokes about the incident, leading fans to call him out on social media for being “distasteful.” Keep reading for more details.
On June 18, Justin Timberlake was pulled over after leaving the American Hotel in Sag Harbor, and charged with one count of DWI and two citations, one for running a stop sign and the other for failure to keep in lane. The officer who arrested him claimed that Timberlake “performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests,” despite Timberlake’s rebuttal claim of only having “had one martini.” Getting behind the wheel after drinking is illegal, never a good idea, and a poor example to set for his millions of fans across the globe.
However, Timberlake apparently didn’t see this as a big deal, and even found it appropriate to make jokes about the incident. “So uh, is there anyone here tonight that is driving and…no I’m just kidding.” he said, before launching into a speech about his bad haircuts over the years.
The singer is due to appear in court on July 26, however, as to not let it “ruin the tour” as he reportedly uttered while being loaded into the back of a cop car, his lawyer will attend on his behalf as he will be performing in Europe.
