Justin Timberlake is said to be deeply concerned about the intensity with which Britney Spears might portray him in her upcoming biopic, especially after the “Toxic” singer, 42, revealed significant secrets about their relationship in her memoir.

According to an insider speaking to Heat Magazine, “There’s no question that Justin and Britney’s relationship is going to be covered in the movie version of her tell-all book, and he is already freaking out about it.”

The source added that the upcoming biopic is causing strain for the “Suit & Tie” crooner, 43, and his wife, Jessica Biel, who are anxious about how it will affect their public image. The tipster shared: “Both Justin and Jessica have been having tense talks about what the biopic will mean for them and their family.”

Justin Timberlake Is Feeling 'Anxious' About Britney Spears' Upcoming Biopic, According To Insiders

As reported by Geo News, the source went on: "[Timberlake and Biel] already found the release of the book difficult to deal with, now the idea of Justin being portrayed in a bad light on the big screen is just a step too far for them both."

They continued, regarding Spears' memoir, The Woman In Me, released in October 2023: "There were some really awful things in the book – both Justin and Jessica feel very sad and sensitive about this being put into film."

As many will recall, Spears and Timberlake started dating in 1999, having met while working on the Mickey Mouse Club together. Their relationship ended in 2002, and Timberlake's hit song "Cry Me a River" led fans to believe that the breakup wasn't amicable, with rumors of Spears' infidelity swirling.

The insider also dished: "[Timberlake is] definitely considering getting his lawyers involved – the book was one thing, but the movie is another. He’s worried about people believing everything they see and his own children one day growing up to read and watch it all."

Universal Pictures has secured the film rights to Spears' acclaimed memoir, as reported by Variety. The book, which quickly ascended to best-seller status, delves into the Grammy winner's journey to stardom, her tumultuous relationship with fellow child star Timberlake (including a pregnancy and subsequent abortion), and her life under a restrictive 13-year conservatorship.

Upon its release last year, Spears announced that the book had become "the highest selling celebrity memoir in history" within its first day on the market. Jon M. Chu and Marc Platt are said to be spearheading the film adaptation. Additionally, Spears recently hinted on X (formerly Twitter) about her involvement in a "secret project" with Platt.

The iconic pop star wrote: "Excited to share with my fans that I’ve been working on a secret project with #MarcPlatt. He’s always made my favorite movies … stay tuned." (We're keeping our eyes peeled for more info!)
