Pass the tissues, as Kaley Cuoco has just filed for divorce from Karl Cook after just three years of marriage. And we have to admit, this is one celebrity break-up we were not expecting!
The 35-year-old Flight Attendant star filed for divorce from the 30-year-old professional equestrian at the Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday, but if we are to believe the joint statement they released, there are actually no hard feelings between them. And as far as we know, no third parties to blame.
What’s the real reason for the split? The couple may have just grown apart as their statement says that they have nothing but mutual “love and respect” for each other.
“Despite a deep love and respect for one another, we have realized that our current paths have taken us in opposite directions. We have both shared so much of our journey publicly so while we would prefer to keep this aspect of our personal life private, we wanted to be forthcoming in our truth together,” the statement read.
“There is no anger or animosity, quite the contrary,” it continued. “We have made this decision together through an immense amount of respect and consideration for one another and request that you do the same in understanding that we will not be sharing any additional details or commenting further.”
If you recall, the couple tied the knot back in June 2018 in San Diego, California, after dating for two years. Cuoco was previously married to Ryan Sweeting, who she once said “ruined” the concept of marriage for her. Cuoco and Sweeting got engaged in back in September 2013 after just three months of dating (talk about moving quickly!) and tied the knot in December that same year. They announced their separation 21 months after getting married.

“I honestly thought I wouldn’t get married again,” Kaley told Cosmopolitan a few months before walking down the aisle for the second time.
“My ex ruined that word for me. I married someone the first time who completely changed. The person I ended up with was not the person I originally met. And that wasn’t my fault—that was his. I knew how much I had to give and how much I wanted to receive. I knew I just had to be patient…I had to go through a lot of things, but it brought me to Karl.”
Reports are already claiming that Kaley Cuoco and Karl Cook have an icon-clad pre-nup in place to protect their assets. Cuoco reportedly has an estimated $100 million net worth, which is largely thanks to her acting work, while Karl Cook – whose father is billionaire Scott Cook – is said to make thousands at a time in horse competitions.
We’ll say it again – we are actually shocked that Kaley Cuoco and Karl Cook – KC Squared, as they were sometimes known – are separating, as they seemed like the perfect couple!
