According to PEOPLE's insider, "[West] is talking to divorce lawyers this week."
Another source close to the family explained, "They are just not on the same page when it comes to their future as a family. And Kim is okay with it."
In fact, it's starting to sound like Kim was more eager to start the divorce proceedings than Kanye.
Earlier this month, Page Six reported that Kim had already hired Laura Wasser as an attorney. Wasser has a long list of previous celebrity clients, including Angelina Jolie, Hilary Duff, Ryan Reynolds, and Kelly Clarkson. Plus, Wasser was the one to represent Kardashian during her divorce from Kris Humphries.
The source explained, "They are keeping it low-key but they are done. Kim has hired Laura Wasser and they are in settlement talks."
Though Kanye might be the last to lawyer up, he was the first to publicly mention a divorce. This summer, the rapper tweeted, "I been trying to get divorced since Kim met with Meek at the Warldolf [sic] for ‘prison reform."
West and Kardashian have not spoken directly about the divorce since then, but sources have given some insight into the focus of their settlement talks.
A source told Page Six, "Kim is trying to get Kanye to turn over the Calabasas house to her, because that’s where the kids are based and growing up. That is their home."
They insider explained, "She owns all the land and adjoining lots around the house but Kanye owns the actual house. They’ve both put a lot of money into renovating it."
