More bad news for Kanye West, as the 45-year-old Yeezy designer is reportedly under investigation for alleged assault and battery following an altercation that took place on the road while driving to nine-year-old daughter North West’s basketball game in Los Angeles on January 27th.
Kanye West's Altercation With Woman He Assumed Was Following Him
According to TMZ, who have a video of some of the incident, the "Eazy" rapper assumed that the car behind him was following him and 27-year-old new wife Bianca Censori (who he married last month!) in their SUV, which resulted in him stepping out of the SUV to confront the people inside.
The video footage shows a woman in the driver's seat filming the "Praise God" rapper, who appears to be lecturing the people inside, saying, "You didn’t have to run up on me like that. If I say stop, stop with your cameras!" The woman filming him can be heard saying "I wasn't running" and "You’re a celebrity!" The "Life of the Party" rapper can then be seen grabbing the woman's phone from her, breaking it, and throwing it in the street, before returning to his own car and driving away.
TMZ confirmed that officers from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department reportedly arrived at the scene "around 4:30 PM and were provided video evidence of the incident," and the woman whose phone was taken and damaged also reported the incident in person.
Kanye then seemed to pull up in front of paparazzi who also filmed the whole incident, and said, "You want me to be running up on your kids’ games like that?" to which they replied, as their defense, "there’s a hundred of us." Kanye added: "Everybody needs to stop when I see my kids. If I need to see my kids, you can’t photograph me. It’s called human rights."
Kanye West's Previous Altercations With Photographers
This isn’t the first time the "Hurricane" rapper has been involved in altercations with photographers. Back in 2015, Ye settled a civil lawsuit regarding a July 2013 incident involving videographer Daniel Ramos, whereby the "Heaven and Hell" rapper allegedly assaulted him and tried to take his camera from him at Los Angeles International Airport after his question of, "Kanye, why can’t we talk to you?" resulted in him lashing out.
Ramos sued West for assault, battery, negligence and interference with his civil rights. The exact details of the settlement are unknown, but West *did* apologize to Ramos, was ordered to serve 250 hours of community service, attend 24 anger management classes, and pay Ramos for the damage caused to his camera.
Also in 2013, the dad-of-four was captured smacking camera lenses at LAX and telling photographers: "I don’t want any paparazzi talking to me… or anyone I know… Tell everybody never talk to anyone that anyone knows." And back in 2008, he was arrested (but not charged) for being aggressive to a photographer in London.

Kanye 'Married' Australian Yeezy Architectural Designer Earlier This Month
The news of Kanye's latest assault investigation comes just a few weeks after he reportedly married 27-year-old Australian architectural designer Bianca Censori in a private ceremony, two months after his divorce from Kim Kardashian, 42, was finalized. The marriage to Censori, who has been working at Yeezy since 2020, isn’t actually official, if we are to believe the reports, as the 'newlyweds' didn’t obtain a marriage certificate.
The couple are still behaving like newlyweds though, and have been spotted wearing their wedding bands which sources say are a "symbol of their commitment together," as well as honeymooning at the Amangiri, a luxury resort located on 600 acres in Utah's Grand Circle of National Parks and Monuments. Censori and West were also spotted shopping at Balenciaga together, despite the brand cutting ties with him following his racist and anti-Semitic comments from last year.
