Kanye West is dragging even more people into his latest drama-filled social media post saga. Earlier this week, it all started when the rapper (legally known as Ye), 45, debuted his newest Yeezy collection at Paris Fashion Week, and caused controversy with shirts and other pieces that displayed the racist phrase, “White Lives Matter” on them in bold lettering.
He then proceeded to attack and publicly mock Vogue fashion editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, 30, on Instagram after she criticized his collection. Several celebrities came to her defense, including Hailey Bieber. The model, 25, shared words of support for her frequent collaborator, and Ye then turned his attention on her, posting about her on IG and calling out to her husband, Justin Bieber, 28.

The Rhode Beauty mogul simply shared the following words on her IG Story for Karefa-Johnson, which later seemed to upset Ye, “My respect for you runs deep my friend! to know you is to adore you and to work with you is an honor. the most kind. the most talented. the most fun. the most chic.”
Ye then uploaded a screenshot of a headline reading “Hailey Bieber Joins Gigi Hadid in Defending Gabriella Karefa-Johnson After Kanye West Criticism.” He then wrote in all caps for the caption, “Wait Am I canceled again??? Justin please let me know.” The Grammy winner didn’t stop there.

He wrote in a lengthy IG post with white letters across a black screen the following message: “I wanna just let everybody know there was also some fashion this week also. There was a major thing called Fashion Week which really last a month and there were some very well done crazy overpriced clothes being shown. It wasn’t just about my paradigm shifting t-shirt.” He continued, adding, “Just kidding. My tee s—t on every body’s showssss.”
The father of four went on with his cryptic note, “Nothing happened but my T shirt. To the Arnaults that hire anybody that worked for me, remember my one T shirt took allllll the attention.” He then threw another dig at Karefa-Johnson, “Beuase [sic] you’re all f—g programmed sheep. Aaaaaaaaand those boots Gab was wearing were fucking traaaaaaaaaaash.” The fashion designer also name-dropped John Legend before seeming to threaten the Biebers, concluding his message, “But I’m sure John Legend still wants a pair. And Justin get your girl before I get mad.” And Ye’s caption, along with all of that nonsense, was “God is love.”

After he sparked outrage on Monday, October 3rd by incorporating the “White Lives Matter” shirts into his Paris Fashion Week show, Ye has most recently said that he met with Karefa-Johnson — whom he tirelessly talked down upon via social media for her criticism of his show — to discuss their differences of opinion. In addition this week, Ye also slammed Gigi Hadid, 27, and Venus X, 31, for their condemnations of his inappropriate behavior.
Originally, it was only Karefa-Johnson that Ye targeted online, posting photos of her to his Instagram the day after the show, ridiculing her appearance and fashion sense within his captions. Hadid then stuck up for the fashion journalist on her own account, dubbing Ye a “disgraceful man,” after which Vogue released a statement on Twitter supporting their employee.

“Vogue stands with Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, our global fashion editor at large,” the statement read. “She was personally targeted and bullied. It is unacceptable. Now more than ever, voices like hers are needed and in a private meeting with Ye today she once again spoke her truth in a way she felt best, on her terms.”
Shortly after Vogue‘s post, Ye explained to his 17.9 million followers that he’d spoken with Karefa-Johnson (who hasn’t yet said anything herself about the meeting). The editor did, however, post on her IG story that she was “exhausted,” but “so moved by and grateful for the outpouring of love I’ve received.” She added, “One thing about me: I will always speak my mind, and always try to honor my truth. My thoughts are my own, and I stand by them.”
While Ye seems to have made piece with the Vogue writer, he has yet to do the same with the Biebers, Hadid or anyone else he dragged into his latest (ongoing) online mess.
