The Kardashians Are Planning On Hosting *Another* Party During Covid–And Twitter Is Freaking Out!

Back in March, most celebs (including the Kardashians) preached to their fans about the importance of staying in, keeping their social distance, and wearing a mask. However, this spirit of “we’re all in this together” did not last long, and the Kardashians are especially guilty of ignoring coronavirus restrictions–whether it’s for Kim’s 40th or Kendall’s 25th, it seems like even a pandemic cannot get in the way of their party planning.

Even though U.S. Covid cases are higher than ever, Khloe Kardashian recently confirmed that her family is still planning on holding their annual Christmas Eve Party–and fans are not happy about it.

The reality star confirmed the party on Twitter, responding to a fan who seemed upset by the possibility that the A-lister get-together would be canceled this year.

The fan asked Khloe, "OMG i just realized..... is the Kardash/Jenner Christmas party getting cancelled this year ????"

Khloe was quick to respond, writing back, "I pray not! I think it will have to be way smaller obviously. And I’m totally fine with that! But we’re definitely celebrating Christmas! It will just have to be small and safe. Maybe do rapid testing before...We have to think of what is safest."

According to the CDC, the "safest" way to go about hosting a Christmas Eve Party would be to not do it or host a virtual one--but that seems out of the question for the Kardashian family.

California's guidelines also have some pretty strict protocols when it comes to gatherings. According to their website, for any gathering you should "wear masks and physically distance from other attendees" and "limit [the gathering] to no more than 3 separate households attend (including the host’s)."

The Kardashians have been caught not wearing masks before (aka at Kendall's Halloween birthday party), and, based on their history, I seriously doubt they'll keep masks on when it comes to their Christmas party photo ops.

Plus, considering how many people are in their extended family (not to mention co-parents and close friends who typically attend their gatherings), it is very unlikely that they'll be able to stick to this rule.

Khloe's suggestion of rapid testing beforehand also does not resolve the problem. Rapid testing is more inaccurate than other types of Covid testing. Plus, according to Healthline, "[N]o test is completely accurate, which means that some cases will be missed (false negatives) and some people will be told they have the virus even though they don’t (false positives)."

Even if everyone who attends their party tests negative beforehand, there is still a possibility that they could be celebrating with someone who does have Covid and the virus could easily spread to the rest of their guests.

With all this in mind, it's no surprise that Twitter was not happy with Khloe's response.

One woman responded, "They haven't followed the rules so far, why start now? Rules apparently don't apply to the filthy rich. My son is sick now and I can't even see him. He took the COVID test on Saturday and he won't have results until Wednesday at the earliest."

Another tweeted, "why is it so hard for y’all to just stay home...not the end of the world to not have a party d***."

Another called the reality star out for a lack of "empathy," tweeting, "If she had any empathy for other people during the pandemic she’d donate her rapid testing money to people who are actually suffering."

Someone else asked the family to not post pictures of the night to discourage others from following their example: "If you have to throw yourselves another party, why not try keeping it private and not post pictures on your social media. So many people look up to you guys and when they see you partying they think it’s okay to do the same. Please set a good example."
