From Kim Kardashian‘s 2022 Marilyn Monroe gown to Kendall Jenner‘s fiery orange frock at the 2019 event, it’s difficult to imagine a Met Gala without the Kardashian family (and their jaw-dropping outfits) in attendance.

According to insider sources who reportedly spoke with Page Six recently, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour is allegedly “cracking down on the guest list” for this year’s Met Gala and shockingly not planning on inviting the Kar-Jenner clan…

Could The 2023 Met Gala Be Kardashian-Free?

The long-awaited, star-studded red carpet event will take place on May 1, 2023 with the theme, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.”

Page Six reported that insiders dished that “no Kardashians will make the cut” regarding the “annual fashion fete,” but another insider close to the fam apparently noted that “it’s not true that the first family of reality TV isn’t invited to the big ball.”

Either way, as the outlet writes, “so far it’s unclear whether anyone from the family — including Kim Kardashian, will be in attendance.”

Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala Legacy

Kim, 42, is a notable fixture on the Met Gala red carpet, and always known to rock daring, sultry and otherworldly pieces from top designers (including Givenchy, Lanvin, Roberto Cavalli, Balmain, Vivienne Westwood, Versace and Balenciaga).

The SKIMS mogul first attended the Met Gala in 2013 with her then-husband Kanye West while she was pregnant with their first child. Since then, she’s turned heads in everything from skintight gowns to floral print dresses to sleek, monochromatic ensembles.

In 2019, the style icon tweeted about her first time at the Met Gala almost one decade ago: “I didn’t know anyone [and] I’m sure no one wanted me there.” She added that walking the red carpet, for which she did her own lipstick, “I went home [and] cried after of insecurity.”

In May 2022, it marked the very first time that Kim joined her sisters Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian, Kendall and Kylie Jenner and her mother Kris Jenner at the Met Gala. Was that also the last time that the whole fam would hit the Gala carpet together? We’ll have to see!
