We’ve always known that blue is Kate Bosworth‘s color, and her shimmering, aquamarine, floor-length dress worn to a screening in Pacific Palisades, CA proves this even more! The Superman Returns actress, 39, stunned in a glistening teal gown designed by 16Arlington at the Bay Theater red carpet for the Netflix premiere of her latest project, Along for the Ride.

Bosworth’s eye-catching dress featured fitted long-sleeves, curve-hugging fabric, and a central keyhole-cut at the neckline, tied together with black string. The Blue Crush icon‘s garment looked very mermaid or nautical-esque, while also giving us major early 2000s nostalgia (has it really been 20 years since that film came out?!)

For the event, she tied her blonde tresses into an elegant updo and slipped on several shiny rings too accessorize. Bosworth shared her look with her Instagram followers in 2 gorgeous posts soon after the premiere. In the first one, her photos gave fans an up-close look at the details of her ensemble, from the scintillating fabric of her dress to her equally wow-ing jewelry. In the next photo collection, Bosworth uploaded a photo from the red carpet premiere as well as behind-the-scenes pics from filming Along For The Ride.

“Had SO much FUN-NA on this sweet movie,” she wrote in her caption. “Thank you @birdabroad for making a smart, grounded, funny + HEARTFELT coming-of-age story we can ALL relate to.” She also revealed that she “loved playing” her character Heidi “SO freaking much” and that fans are going to love “this perfect summer movie.” (And we all know that Bosworth is the queen of teen summer flicks!)
