Kate Hudson divided the internet when she arrived at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles on Wednesday, November 29th to honor Yara Shahidi for receiving the 2023 WIF Max Mara Face of the Future Award. The 44-year-old actress walked the red carpet – or should we say black carpet – in an oversized Max Mara grey suit which certainly got people talking on social media!

The Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery star wore a very oversized dark gray Max Mara suit consisting of oversized trousers and a matching blazer, which she teamed with an ab-baring black crop top underneath. She wore her hair in an effortless sleek and straight down do, which was tucked behind her ears to reveal her drop earrings. Her makeup consisted of a softly lined eye, rosy cheeks, and a natural glossy pink lip.
We often say that the trick to wearing oversized pieces is to juxtapose them with something tight so as not to drown and overwhelm the figure, which is exactly what Hudson did by pairing her suit with the barely-there black top. However, many people on the internet didn't seem to agree!

The Music actress's look didn't go down well on social media, with one person saying she had "zero fashion sense" on a December 1st Just Jared Instagram post of Kate on the red carpet. "Was the theme ill fitting suits?" asked another Instagram user. "A hard no on Kate's look. I think she needs a new stylist? The looks are always plain," slammed another.
The comments on her own Instagram account, however, were a little more varied. Commenting on a November 30th video containing footage of the actress getting ready for the event, one fan said: "Lovely suit but I don't understand this trend of having it so oversized." Another replied, "The coat looks nice. The suit looks too masculine to me," as someone else added: "Hugely oversized seems to be the trend right now... not sure what to think but she looks absolutely gorgeous anyway!"
And many other fans agreed with the "absolutely gorgeous" part, with another fan writing, "You just ooze sunshine and joy. Looking great girl." "Such a beauty," added another, followed by the heart eyes emoji. "I love this look," praised another fan, followed by four fire emojis.
