According to a palace insider, Kate Middleton has felt neglected by her husband Prince William since her recent hospital discharge following abdominal surgery. As revealed by a source who sat down with In Touch last week, the Princess of Wales, 42, “has felt abandoned by her husband” of almost 13 years.

In a new Instagram post on March 10th, the Duchess of Cambridge notably broke her silence and spoke out about her abdominal surgery and ongoing recovery, thanking fans for their well wishes. “Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months,” Kate wrote, while also sharing a new photo of herself and her three children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.

The image was taken by William, 41, according to the caption. “Wishing everyone a Happy Mother’s Day,” Kate’s message continued.

Kate Middleton Felt Neglected By Prince William After Her Abdominal Surgery, According To A Palace Insider

When speaking with In Touch, the aforementioned source added that William has been focusing more on his work and royal responsibilities following his father King Charles' cancer diagnosis and announcement last month. As a result, the insider dished that Kate has felt like less of a priority, even while recovering from surgery.

"William has taken on more royal duties now that Charles is battling cancer, and that’s pulled him away from Kate," the source said. They went on: "He’s preparing to take over the throne. He’s also checking on his father more, and William had to deal with [his brother] Harry’s recent visit."

Back in January, Kensington Palace noted that Kate's surgery was "successful" in a statement at the time. The Palace added: "it is expected that she will remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days, before returning home to continue her recovery." It was also mentioned that Kate underwent a "planned abdominal" procedure," and "based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter."

The statement continued: "The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate. She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private. Kensington Palace will, therefore, only provide updates on Her Royal Highness’ progress when there is significant new information to share."

Kate's absence from public outings since December 2023 caused curiosity among social media users, but she was spotted during an early March drive with her mother, Carole Middleton, as she recovered in private.

On March 6th, a representative for William said, regarding the Prince of Wales and his current state of mind: "His focus is on work and not on social media."

In her recent social media post photo, Kate dons blue jeans and a dark, snug sweater while seated in a chair and embracing Charlotte and Louis. George, meanwhile, stands behind her, encircling her neck with his arms.

As another source recently told Us Weekly, Kate and William's children have been sweetly caring for their mother as she recovers. "They’ve all made her some ‘get well soon’ cards along with some of her favorite snacks," the insider said.
