Kate Middleton Makes A Comment About Passing On Her Jam Recipe In Pontypridd, South Wales
The Prince and Princess of Wales traveled to Pontypridd in south Wales on Wednesday, February 26th. The Princess of Wales looked stunning in a red Alexander McQueen coat, which she previously rocked at her Together at Christmas carol concert at the end of last year. However, it wasn't what she was wearing that got the internet's attention, it was what she said to a group of young gardeners.
While visiting the Meadow Street Community Garden and Woodland, the mom-of-three started talking to some gardeners who said they were harvesting plums in order to make jam. According to Hello!, she told them: "I'll send you my recipe so you can try it."
Social media couldn't help but comment on the Princess of Wales' remark, and immediately started wondering whether she was "jealous" of the Duchess of Sussex, who released her own jams through her then-titled American Riviera Orchard lifestyle brand, and was therefore trying to "copy" her.
Internet Reactions
"Talk about wanting to be like Meghan. Jealous much?" one person commented on a People Instagram post. "Hey Copykate," quipped a second, while a third called the Princess of Wales' offer of passing on her jam recipe a "jealous copy cat job."
"Copykate," another Instagram user simply wrote, to which one replied: "Took the words right out my mouth." "I'm sure Kate is gonna have a cooking show sooner [or] later," quipped another. "Tell me you are jealous without telling me," someone else added, as another thought it was "petty behavior." "This is pathetic. Wow," slammed another.
However, not everyone felt the same way. "In 2011 Kate made English chutney as a Christmas gift for the Queen. Meghan came along YEARS later. So who is the copy(meghan)cat?" asked one fan. "The English have been making jam for years and years. You really can't think that Megain invented jam?" asked a second, as a third noted: "The palace has been selling jam for years. Meghan did not invent selling jam."
