Kate Middleton reportedly called estranged sister-in-law Meghan Markle in a bid to “clear the air” once and for all. This revelation comes just a few days after the rumors of Meghan reaching out to the Princess of Wales while she was recovering from abdominal surgery were being slammed as “not true” by a royal expert.
According to The Mirror, the Princess of Wales, 42, called the former Suits actress, also 42, at some point after the release of Omid Scobie’s bombshell book Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival to try and “ease the tension.”

If you'll recall, Scobie's book dropped many bombshells, some of which related to Prince Harry and Meghan's racism allegations in their infamous Oprah interview about unnamed members of the royal household raising concerns about the color of their son Archie's skin.
"Shortly after the book's allegations came out, Kate reached out to Meghan to clear the air," an insider reportedly told In Touch Weekly, as per The Mirror. And interestingly, it was actually at King Charles' request!
King Charles Wants To 'Heal The Rift Once And For All'
We know that King Charles and the Princess of Wales have an enviably close relationship, so we aren't surprised to hear that she did as he asked. Especially as the Prince of Wales, according to the source, was less than willing to make the first move, with the source saying: "Charles forced Kate to become his peacemaker after William's refusal."
"She agreed, because when it comes to the royal family, Kate has always taken her duties seriously — she does what she is told," the insider continued, adding: "This feud has gotten so unseemly and out of hand, it's starting to overshadow his reign and the entire monarchy. He wants to heal the rift once and for all."
