The One-Shouldered Royal Blue Gown Kate Middleton Wore For Eurovision Looks Familiar—Fans Think She Copied Meghan Markle

It’s no secret that Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are both fashion icons in their own right, and also, that they have both rocked similar dresses, coats and other chic items throughout the years. Many fans have compared their individual styles and often claim that the Princess of Wales frequently takes inspiration from the Duchess of Sussex when it comes to her outfits.
Now, after Princess Kate donned a stunning, blue, one-shoulder gown from Jenny Packham with cascading fabric and a ruffled shoulder this week, some fans are noting how much it looks like Markle’s Chistopher John Rogers dress that she wore to the NAACP Awards in February 2023. Both pieces featured lookalike necklines, coloring and two-tone designs.
During the Eurovision Song Contest finals this week, Kate surprised viewers with a pre-recorded cameo video. The royal sat at a piano, played the instrument, and treated fans to an instrumental version of “Stefania,” by the Ukrainian group Kalush Orchestra, who were victorious in the musical competition last year. The rich blue hue of Kate’s frock was significant, as it honored the Ukranian flag.
Some fans on Twitter were “shook” and “taken aback” by how much Kate’s dress resembled Markle’s also one-shouldered, two-toned blue piece, with one writing, “It is quite creepy the way Kate Middleton copies everything that Meghan wears and does.” They added, “She never ever has an original idea of her own, Meghan lives on in Kate’s head rent free.”
Someone else agreed, tweeting, “Copy Kate has once again ‘borrowed’ Meghan’s style with a replica of the dress Meghan wore to the NAACP Image Awards.” More described the numbers as “eerily similar,” especially down to their silhouettes and chiffon details.
Back in February, Markle attended the NAACP Awards ceremony with her husband Prince Harry, and wowed fans with her glamorous two-tone azure gown. It also had a memorable attached train and light-blue cape, as well as a show-stopping high-slit.
