When Kate Middleton revealed that she’d been diagnosed with cancer back in March, the world was shocked. She let the world know that she’d be taking a step back from her public duties as she focuses on treatment, and now, nearly four months later, she’s made her first public appearance since the announcement.
Princess Catherine and her family all attended the Trooping the Colour to celebrate King Charles’ birthday, and though she looked absolutely stunning in an elegant white midi dress, sources close to the family are saying that the event “exhausted” her. Keep reading for more information.
Kate Middleton 'Exhausted' After Trooping Of The Color
The Trooping the Colour took place on June 15th, but the day before, Kate Middleton shared an Instagram post to her and Prince William's shared account to let royal fans know that she would be in attendance.
"I am making good progress," she wrote in the caption, "but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to given in to your body resting. but on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well."
She also shared that she has many more months of treatment ahead of her, noting that she's "not out of the woods yet," but is excited to attend The King's Birthday Parade. On the day of the event, she looked stunning, standing with her family to wave to adoring crowds, but as gorgeous as she looked, sources are saying that it was a difficult day for the future Queen.
"Kate was nervous making her reappearance," the source told Life & Style. "She worried she would look tired or too thin at the parade, but she looked amazing. The supportive response Kate got boosted her confidence, and it was apparent."
The source continued, saying that the day really wiped the Princess out. "Kate was exhausted afterward. It was a long day, it took a lot out of her."
Prince William Is 'Proud' Of Kate Middleton
Fortunately, Kate received an outpouring of love from her family as well as the adoring crowds who were in attendance just as much to see her as to celebrate the King's 75th birthday. "Prince William was very proud of her," the same source shared. "And so were the rest of the royal family."
Royal fans from all over the world also shared words of support and well wishes in the comment section of Kate's Instagram post. "We continue praying for your recovery and are extremely happy you are taking food care and taking things day by day," one American commenter wrote. "You are so loved and admired in the United States and all over the world."
"Wishing the Princess a kind and speedy recovery!" another person wrote.
"Take all the time you need," another person shared. "You are in our thoughts and prayers and we will be here ready to welcome you back with open arms when you are well enoguh. So wonderful to see you today!"
"We love you Kate!" a final fan shared. "It was so nice to see you out and about today, we are all rooting for you!"
