Kate Middleton Hospitalized For 10-14 Days
On the morning of Jan. 17th, Kensington Palace released a statement saying that Kate Middleton had underwent "planned abdominal surgery" the day before, and would not only be staying in the hospital for 10-14 days, but will be canceling all of her royal engagements until Easter, which falls on Mar. 31st of this year.
The statement also noted that the surgery was "successful," and that she is wishing for privacy during this time.
According to People, Prince William will also be postponing public duties to support Kate during her recovery and take care of their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Did Kate Middleton Hint At Health Issues Prior To Surgery?
The day before the Princess of Wales' surgery, The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood posted photos on X, formerly Twitter, commemorating the meeting of the Royal Foundation Business Taskforce for Early Childhood. However, royal fans were quick to notice that Kate, who launched the initiative, was missing from the photos.
Though Kate's primary involvement with the initiative was getting it up and running, her absence was certainly noted by fans.
"Where on earth is Kate?" one person asked in a tweet responding to the photos. This was asked on Jan. 16th, before the public even knew Kate was being hospitalized.
"Where's Catherine?" another person asked, again prior to Jan. 17th.
