Kate Middleton Reportedly Didn't Rise To Cruel Nickname
"To her full credit, Kate never rose to it – the snootiness of the upper classes levelled at what they called the en-masse Middletons," Nicholl said on the podcast.
According to The Mirror, a royal aide echoed this, and told the Sunday Times Magazine that although the future queen was "hurt" by the cruel three-word nickname, she didn't let it faze her. The aide said: "It was never water off a duck's back, but she has extraordinary strength of character and resilience. I've never once seen or heard of her losing her temper."
Prince William Reportedly Broke Up With Kate Middleton Via Phone Call In 2007
More information about the mom-of-three's past has been highlighted in Robert Jobson's new book Catherine, the Princess of Wales: The Biography. One particular stand-out incident involved Prince William allegedly breaking up with her via phone call.
"In an emotionally charged 30-minute conversation, they both acknowledged they were on 'different' pages. It was a devastating blow to Catherine, who felt doubly let down at being dumped over the phone," Jobson wrote, before writing about how they got back together a few months later after Prince William had "second thoughts."
The now Prince and Princess of Wales reportedly got back together at a 'Freakin' Naughty' themed costume party thrown by jockey Sam Waley-Cohen. Jobson wrote: "She'd arrived dressed as a nurse, and William had made a beeline for her. They then spent the first part of the evening deep in conversation before hitting the dance floor, where they ended up kissing." They reportedly got back together that same night!
