It doesn’t seem like Kate Middleton will return to public duties after Easter after all, as it’s been confirmed that she won’t be making an appearance at Trooping the Color in June.
If you’ll recall, the Palace stated that the Princess of Wales, 42, would be recovering from her abdominal surgery at home and wouldn’t be taking on any public duties until after Easter. As Easter Sunday falls on March 31st this year, it wouldn’t have been wrong to assume that she would be appearing at Trooping the Color – The Colonel’s Review – which this year takes place on Saturday, June 8th. However, that now doesn’t seem to be the case…
Kate Middleton's Name Is Removed From Trooping The Color Website
It was initially thought that the Princess of Wales would be present at Trooping the Color after a picture of her appeared on the official website, alongside a line that said she would be reviewing troops on June 8th. However, it doesn't seem like Kensington Palace officially confirmed her appearance, and the claim that she would be attending has now been removed from the website.
The website also states that King Charles will be reviewing the troops in the final parade – i.e., the King's Birthday Parade – on June 15th; although according to the BBC, the Palace hasn't officially confirmed his attendance either. At the time of writing, there is nothing on the website to suggest that the King won't be there, although we imagine the plans could change at the last moment as he is currently undergoing treatment for cancer.
Royal Fans Speculate About Kate Middleton's Health Status
The fact that the Princess of Wales may not be at an event that is taking place over a month after Easter – i.e., when the Palace said she would be returning to public duties – has done nothing to stop people speculating about her health status, among other things.
There have been a number of conspiracy theories about Kate's whereabouts, her health, and even her relationship with Prince William since she went into hospital for elected abdominal surgery in the middle of January, with Prince William's unexplained absence at his godfather's memorial last month also causing fans to worry.
Many fans took to the comments section of the BBC's X post about the mom-of-three's Trooping the Color absence to speculate about her health. "So not back to 'work' after Easter, then?!?" commented one fan, as another said: "This continues to get weirder and weirder." "They're not doing themselves or her any favors are they," wrote a third fan. "Who are you fooling? She won't be seen for a while," predicted another, as someone else quipped: "Popcorn ready for this saga! #katemissington #WhereIsKate"
"It's making me wonder if they have split up, but they aren't sure how to break the news to the public," speculated one X user, adding, "Could be wrong like, she still could be recovering from very major surgery." Another urged other X users to not speculate about the Princess of Wales' health, and wrote: "Let the woman recover from whatever is wrong with her. If she's ill, or if there is something more to it then it's personal."

The hashtag #WhereIsKate has been trending all over social media, with many fans using it to talk about their own concerns and theories.
"Why no pictures of Princess of Wales going to or leaving The London Clinic? Why no doctor or hospital spokesperson providing diagnosis or prognosis? Something is fishy. #WhereIsKate?" commented one royal fan. "But #WhereIsKate It's getting weird more & more," concurred another. "#WhereIsKate Has anyone had any evidence that #PrincessofWales ever had an operation as you were made to believe? Her disappearance is much simpler than that. She is currently with her parents after falling out with #PrinceWilliam. Everything else they are telling you is a lie," speculated another.
Another X user referenced one of the recent stories about Meghan Markle extending an olive branch to Kate Middleton (which a royal expert actually said was not true) and wrote: "Not the olive branch again! Another concurred: "The lies are coming in thick & fast about #HarryandMeghan so that everyone forgets SOMEONE IS STILL MISSING #WhereIsKateMiddleton #WhereIsKate."
