Could Kate Middleton Become Royal Lady of the Order of the Garter?
Royal Lady of the Order of the Garter is a title that can be traced back 700 years into British history. It signifies a certain level of seniority, meaning that if she was given the title, "it would cement her seniority in the Firm and is personally chosen by the monarch," according to The Daily Express.
Kate Middleton and King Charles have reportedly grown quite close since Kate Middleton officially joined the royal family back in 2011, when she married Prince William. Since then, she's taken on many roles and responsibilities within the royal family, in addition to raising her and William's three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
It is not uncommon for working royals to receive new titles: Kate received three last year, courtesy of her father-in-law, King Charles: Commodore-inChief of the Fleet Air Arm, Colonel-inChief of the 1st Queen's Dragoon Guards, and Royal Honorary Commodore of Royal Air Force Coningsby.
Fans Hope For A New Title For Kate Middleton
Many fans have taken to social media to express their support for Kate being appointed Royal Lady of the Order of the Garter. "Royal Lady of the Order of the Garter is fitting for Catherine, Princess of Wales for her dedication and work in mental health issues and especially her shaping US initiative for early childhood development, along with the 200 patronages, charities and projects she supports," one dedicated fan wrote.
"Catherine, Princess of Wales is quite deserving of being inducted into the Order of the Garter," another fan agreed.
