Although she has been slowly easing herself back into royal duties over the past few months, royal fans shouldn’t expect to see Kate Middleton return to a full working schedule any time soon, according to insiders.

The Princess of Wales, who turned 43 on Thursday, January 9th, has made welcome appearances at events such as Trooping the Color (pictured below,) the men’s final at Wimbledon, and her Together at Christmas carol concert, to name just three, after undergoing preventative chemotherapy last year. But she is still expected to take things easy for the foreseeable future.

Kate Middleton Is Expected To Take Things Slow In 2025

According to the Daily Mail, an insider reportedly told royal editor Rebecca English that "the Princess simply won't be going back to work in the same way as before" being diagnosed with cancer.

"There is no huge reset button that's going to be hit in January," the insider continued, according to English. They then went on to speculate what the next few months will look like for the mom of three…

The insider reportedly said: "What we will actually see is a slow continuation of the Princess balancing her recovery and her public-facing duties, as she outlined back in September [when she warned her recovery was still ongoing despite having completed her chemotherapy.]"

"Cancer impacts on your perspective, and what you have seen in the decisions they have made over the last year is that family and their children continue to be at the centre of their universe. Both Their Royal Highnesses have a strong commitment to duty, service and using their platform for good," the insider continued.

They added: "But what they are working on is ways they can balance themselves as parents with being the Prince and Princess of Wales."

English then went on to speculate what activities the Princess of Wales may take part in this year, as well as what she may skip. English wrote: "In the Princess's case, as well as a slow return to full-time public duties, there are no plans – yet – for any full-scale foreign royal tour – although it is not denied she may join her husband on one short trip, should she feel up to it."

She then hinted that Prince William, who is working hard to fill in for King Charles, as he is undergoing his own treatment for cancer, will continue some solo work. "For his part, William will undertake a 'handful' of solo foreign visits in the coming months, another sign of Catherine's progress," English wrote.

Fan Comments

As expected, royal fans flooded the internet with comments. "I don't blame her. She needs time to heal. Cancer treatments are tough on the body," wrote one supportive fan on a Page Six article.

"Kate Middleton is such a lovely & classy lady (much more than Camilla & Meghan.) I feel so bad for her," wrote a second, as a third added: "A beautiful woman and a class act. I wish her the very best."

"Whatever, wherever she can be she will be welcomed. Anyone suffering health woes understands," wrote a fourth supportive fan. "God bless her. She seems like a very nice, warm person and I wish nothing but the best for her," commented another.
