Just days before celebrating the official crowning of King Charles III, Prince William and Kate Middleton headed to the Dog & Duck Pub in Soho, London on Thursday, May 4th. There, the couple met the staff and heard how they were preparing for the coronation. For her visit to the historic pub, the Princess of Wales wore a surprisingly proper outfit—a form-fitting fiery red coat dress over a silky white shirtdress. We can’t believe how chic she looks!
Kate Middleton Wows In A Chic, Form-Fitting Red Coat At A Pub With Prince William
Ahead of King Charles's coronation, Prince William and Princess Kate toured London and met with residents. On Thursday afternoon, the couple went on a walk in the city (they even took the metro!) to the Dog & Duck Pub in the Soho district of London. There they heard how the popular bar, which is just a mile from Buckingham Palace, was preparing for the big coronation weekend.
The couple's official Twitter account posted a pic of them on the London Underground, heading to the pub. The route they took, the Elizabeth Line, was named after Prince William's late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. And, their Instagram account also posted a reel of William and Kate's time on the tube and at the bar.
For their day in London, William and Kate were styled in casual business attire. The Prince of Wales donned a light blue dress shirt, a pair of navy slacks, a brown blazer, and light brown suede shoes. Kate, on the other hand, the epitome of spring style.
She chose to wear an ankle-length, poppy red coat dress from Epnonine (which resembled the coat she wore to honor Princess Diana). From Eponine, the coat was made from a wool crepe fabric and featured a mandarin collar, pockets, wrist-length sleeves, and six large buttons. Underneath the coat, Kate wore a breezy white shirtdress from Suzannah that was made from Italian crepe silk with a matching waist-cinching belt.
Kate further elevated the ensemble with the Mulberry Amberley bag in white, statement pearl drop earrings from Maria Black, and her diamond-and-sapphire engagement ring from William. She finished off the look with sky-high white leather pointed-toe pumps from Jimmy Choo that matched her dress and handbag. The Princess of Wales kept her makeup look simple and natural with light pink and glowy glam. She wore her signature brunette hair in a side-parted, wavy style.
And, even though the coronation may be over, we are not over the coronation! King Charles's coronation at Westminster Abbey was a momentous affair filled with drama that definitely went down in the British history books. Not only was the event historical, but the star-studded guest list and their outfits were also unforgettable. Katy Perry performed in a stunning, custom-made gold Vivienne Westwood gown for the coronation.
