Kate Middleton has officially returned to her royal duties following her “incredibly tough” battle with cancer. She attended a private Early Years Meeting at Windsor Castle on Tuesday, September 17th, and met with members of her team at the Centre for Early Childhood.
This marks the first engagement for the Princess of Wales, 42, since she revealed that she had completed her chemotherapy in a heartfelt video of herself and her family – husband Prince William, 42, and their three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6 – on September 9th.
“As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” the Princess of Wales said on social media, alongside the video. “The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.”
“The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you,” the Princess of Wales continued, adding: “This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved. Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus.”
