Kate Middleton stepped out in yet another super functional yet chic springtime ensemble. Over coronation weekend, the Princess of Wales donned a long-sleeved, periwinkle, button-down blouse, cargo-style dark skinny jeans and brown Chelsea boots while volunteering in Berkshire, England.
As part of the Big Help Out, Princess Kate joined her husband Prince William and their three children to help renovate the 3rd Upton Scouts Hut charity center in Slough. While this was certainly a stylish moment for Kate, this family endeavor was also extra significant, for it was 5-year-old Prince Louis’ very first royal engagement!

Prince Louis Completes His Very First Royal Engagement At Age 5
For the afternoon, the family of five completed tasks with scouts and leaders such as painting wooden planters, navigating tractors, shoveling and digging. Kate, William and Louis wore matching red-and-yellow scarves for the day along with 9-year-old Prince George and 8-year-old Princess Charlotte.

To celebrate their hard work, the fam also engaged in activities like archery and making s’mores. Little Louis adorably painted his hand and contributed to a wall mural, and his first volunteering experience was a success, according to Anne Edwards, an adult Scout helper who worked with the royal children and who spoke with People.

“Louis was very enthusiastic and did a good job,” Edwards said, adding, “He was determined to do it all by himself, and he managed to dig the whole paintbrush in, flick it up, and managed to cover quite a few of us in paint. He was doing a good job.”

Willliam wore a dark blue long-sleeved button-up shirt with black pants and matched his sons, who both wore blue polo shirts in different shades. Louis and George differed when it came to bottoms, as the younger son donned dark blue long shorts and the eldest chose green jeans pants. Charlotte opted for lighter colors for the outdoor activities with a rosy collared shirt over a dark pink sweater and jean shorts.

Edwards deemed the royal quintet to be a “lovely, very natural family,” and described them as “very easy” to talk to. “You don’t feel as they’re royal — there’s no bowing, we were just chatting to them,” she noted.
