Kate Middleton looked breathtakingly beautiful during a surprise visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital in London on Tuesday, January 14th.
It’s now been revealed that the Princess of Wales, 43, received cancer treatment at the Royal Marsden Hospital last year. And during her emotional visit, she spoke with some of the patients currently receiving treatment, and also thanked the staff for their “exceptional care, support and compassion” over the past year.
Kate Middleton Wears A Chic Burgundy Tartan Coat With Matching Separates For Royal Marsden Visit
The Princess of Wales looked effortlessly chic and elegant in a deep burgundy custom BLAZÉ Milano tartan coat (she must have known how well-received her green tartan coat from Christmas Day was!) and a matching Edeline Lee burgundy skirt and burgundy Kiltane cashmere turtleneck sweater.
She accessorized with a matching red Asprey bag, and finished off with some brown Russell and Bromley pointed toe suede pumps. Her hair was worn in its signature center-parted slightly wavy down do.
The mom-of-three, who confirmed that she is now in "remission," addressed her own cancer treatment during her surprise visit. According to the Daily Mail, she said: "Coming in the front entrance here, having made so many quiet, private visits, actually it's quite nice."
The Princess of Wales continued: "I wanted to come and show my support for the amazing work that's going on here and for those who are going through treatment and having such a hard time."
While talking with some of the staff, Princess Catherine reportedly spoke about some of the challenges and side effects of chemotherapy.
"You think treatment's finished, crack on with that... daily tasks, but that's still like a real challenge," she said, as per the Daily Mail. "And talking... the words totally disappear. Understanding that as a patient, yes there are side effects around treatment, but actually there are more long-term side effects."
During a conversation with one of the Royal Marsden's current patients, the Princess of Wales also reportedly said: "The resilience you need to get through, first of all, a small taster of what you've gone through... it's to keep coming back... to be as positive as you are." She added: "The treatments are really so different and so varied, it impacts families differently."
