Moving house can be stressful for anyone – and moving from one luxurious residence to another is no exception, as Kate Middleton is reportedly finding it hard to adjust to her new home!

According to royal expert Katie Nicholl, the new Princess of Wales, 40, has been having a “very difficult time” since moving from Kensington Palace in London to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, which she and husband Prince William, the new Prince of Wales, did earlier this year.

Not what the Prince and Princess of Wales had hoped for

If you'll recall, the Prince and Princess of Wales made the move in order to be closer to the late Queen Elizabeth II, but the late monarch tragically passed away in Balmoral just days afterwards, aged 96. Nicholl claims that the move hasn’t been what either of them had hoped for, and it has been stressful for not just Kate, but all of the family.

"They’ve said that themselves… that this hasn’t been the settling period that they had hoped for," Nicholl said on TalkTV’s Royal Tea show, according to The Mirror. "Of course, they made that big move just after the summer holidays to move to Windsor. A significant and pretty bold move leaving Kensington Palace, enrolling the children in new schools, setting up a new life for themselves in Windsor, I think really so that they could be below the radar and have this normal family life which they are pretty successful in having."

"Very, very difficult times"

"Of course, no one could have expected that the Queen would have died just at the start of all that," Nicholl continued. "Very, very difficult times. I think behind the scenes there is a fair bit of stress and anxiety for all of the family."

Interestingly, Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4, all started at their new school, Lambrook, on September 8th, the day the Queen passed away. They were reportedly enjoying the half-term holidays as a family at the end of last month, before the children went back to school on Monday, October 31st. Will the Prince and Princess of Wales move again if they are still struggling to settle in, or will they stick it out for the sake of their children so they don’t have to change schools yet again? Only time will tell!
