Kate Middleton just made her tiara debut as the Princess of Wales, and stunned us all in a white gown by Jenny Packham with glistening sleeve detailing. The royal family member, 40, donned the elegant ensemble for this week’s state banquet at Buckingham Palace, held as part of the first state visit of King Charles III‘s reign. The monarch welcomed the President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, to the U.K., and Princess Kate wore her first tiara in nearly three years, specifically the symbolic Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot tiara.

Princess Kate Stuns In Sparkle-Adorned White Dress And Glittering Tiara

Princess Kate’s floor-length Jenny Packham gown featured an exquisite cape and silver shoulder embellishments. Her tiara, according the Court Jeweller, is more than 100 years old and originally commissioned from jeweler Garrard by Queen Mary in either 1913 or 1914. It is a replica of another tiara that was previously owned by Mary’s grandmother, Princess Augusta of Hesse, the Duchess of Cambridge.

Kate’s look for the evening was meaningful in many ways, as she also added earrings that once belonged to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana (she also recently wore them to the Remembrance Sunday service) and a bracelet that Queen Elizabeth II loved. Princess Kate topped it all off with the Royal Family order and the navy blue Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order star and sash. The royal wore her signature brunette tresses into a timeless updo, bringing more attention to her stunning facial features.

Kate’s Affinity For Jenny Packham Pieces

Princess Kate is no stranger to British label Jenny Packham’s designs. The style icon memorably rocked a glittery green tulle gown from the brand while attending a reception on her and Prince William’s final evening in Jamaica back in March. In September 2021, Kate also donned an unforgettable sequined gold dress by Jenny Packham to the James Bond No Time To Die London premiere. While we loved all of these looks from the princess, this most recent white ensemble along with the beautiful tiara is truly hard to beat!
