Kate Middleton is reportedly “worried” about how Prince William will cope with his father King Charles‘ cancer diagnosis.

King Charles, 75, revealed his battle with an undisclosed form of cancer in a groundbreaking announcement on Monday, February 5th. On February 10th, Buckingham Palace released another statement to say that King Charles was remaining optimistic, while expressing his “heartfelt thanks” to the public for their well wishes.

Prince William, 41, attended London’s Air Ambulance Charity Gala Dinner on Wednesday, February 7th, which marked his first day of public engagements since the news of King Charles’ cancer diagnosis and the Princess of Wales’ planned abdominal surgery broke. But despite putting on a brave face at the charity dinner, insiders don’t believe that Prince William is coping well with his father and wife’s respective health battles, with a royal author saying that the Princess of Wales, 43, will be extremely worried about how these health battles are affecting her husband.

Kate Middleton Is Reportedly 'Terribly Concerned' About The Toll King Charles' Cancer Diagnosis Will Have On Prince William

"Kate is worried about the psychical toll these twin medical battles are having on her husband," The King: The Life of Charles III author Christopher Andersen told Fox News Digital, in reference to the King's cancer diagnosis and her own abdominal surgery.

"William is terribly concerned about Kate's condition – we still don't know what her abdominal surgery was for or why her recovery is taking months – and now he has to face the fact that his father has cancer," Andersen continued, adding: "William has always made it clear that he wanted a full-fledged family life, and when Kate became incapacitated, he stepped in to play hands-on dad. He cut back on his schedule to drive the kids to school, the whole nine yards."

"Now he has resumed his royal duties much sooner than perhaps he would have liked. But there are times when duty trumps family life and, after all, William is the future king."

King Charles Releases Statement & Health Updates After Cancer Diagnosis Announcement

Despite being on the throne for only 17 months, King Charles remains optimistic and grateful for the well wishes and encouragement from his fellow countrymen. While Prince William is reportedly still distressed over the situation, King Charles stated that sharing his diagnosis has helped raise public awareness of cancer, which is just as heartening to him. Buckingham Palace released a statement to the public on Saturday, February 10th, reaffirming the King's commitment to promoting cancer research and treatments.

King Charles said: "I would like to express my most heartfelt thanks for the many messages of support and good wishes I have received in recent days. As all those who have been affected by cancer will know, such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement."

The royal added: "It is equally heartening to hear how sharing my own diagnosis has helped promote public understanding and shine a light on the work of all those organizations which support cancer patients and their families across the UK and wider world." He continued: "My lifelong admiration for their tireless care and dedication is all the greater as a result of my own personal experience."

The recent note from King Charles coincides with reportedly escalating tensions between his two sons, Prince William, 41, and Prince Harry, 39. Reports indicate that these tensions have been mounting even further after Harry made a sudden trip to the UK to be with their father in the wake of Charles' unexpected health announcement earlier this week.

It has been reported that Harry only spent a brief amount of time with King Charles (less than an hour) on Tuesday before departing for his Montecito, California home the following day, without any interaction with William.

Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, allegedly dished that the Prince of Wales thought that the Duke of Sussex's quick visit was solely a "PR opportunity." Sitting down with the The Sun this week, Seward said: "William would be upset that Harry yet again has chosen to make this visit to see his father a PR opportunity." She added that the Duke of Cambridge has "absolutely no interest" in speaking to the Spare author.

As reported by The Independent, King Charles took the initiative to inform Harry, William, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward about the news before it was officially announced to the public by the Palace on Monday at 6 pm.

After Charles shared the news of his cancer diagnosis publicly, his openness and transparency was commended by many health professionals on social media.

Many continue to send well wishes to Charles and praise his commitment to spreading awareness as we await more details and updates.
