In the new cover story, Winslet disclosed that she “refused to cover up her belly rolls” when a crew member suggested she do so during the filming of her new movie, Lee. The Oscar winner and style icon recounted the experience, telling the publication that a crew member advised her to sit up straighter during a scene to conceal any visible rolls. This moment occurred while she was filming her role as Lee Miller, the iconic model and WWII photographer, for the upcoming biopic.
For the recent photoshoot, the Sense and Sensibility actress struck a pose sans top in certain shots, while in others, she showcased stylish ensembles such as a sophisticated pinstripe blazer, a pristine white Ralph Lauren button-down paired with high-waisted Frame jeans, and a sleek gray wool Prada jacket, among other fashionable outfits.

Winslet told Harper's Bazaar UK, regarding her buzzing Lee film: "There’s a bit where Lee’s sitting on a bench in a bikini... And one of the crew came up between takes and said: 'You might want to sit up straighter.' So you can’t see my belly rolls? Not on your life! It was deliberate, you know?" Winslet went on: 'Doesn’t she mind looking less-than-perfect on screen?' The opposite. I take pride in it because it is my life on my face, and that matters. It wouldn’t occur to me to cover that up."
The Holiday alum continued: "I think people know better than to say, 'You might wanna do something about those wrinkles?' I’m more comfortable in myself as each year passes. It enables me to allow the opinions of others to evaporate."
The outlet shared the aforementioned topless shot of Winselt in a post for its 1.6 million followers on August 7th. Fans headed to the comment section to share their thoughts.

The movie had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 9, 2023. It is set for a theatrical release in the United Kingdom by Sky Cinema on September 13, 2024.
