Heigl, who stars in the new Netflix series Firefly Lane, shared a photo of herself wearing a neckbrace along with images of her neck X-ray to Instagram, revealing in the caption the struggles of the past several weeks. “Two titanium disk now inhabit my neck and I can probably stand on my head for like hours...I’m not gonna try it just yet but give me a few months and I’ll blow your mind!!” she wrote.
The actress also shared another photo of herself in the hospital with bandages on her neck, showing the aftermath of the surgery. It’s unclear how Heigl injured herself, but she thanked at length the doctors who “saved me from the most excruciating pain I have ever experienced,” and for, “treating me like a human being and giving me so much of your time and attention to help me truly understand what to expect and what all my options were. Thank you for your tremendous talent and expertise and for saving my neck!”
Heigl is now on the mend from her neck surgery and seems to be in good spirits following St. Patrick’s Day when she initially posted on Instagram to share the news. The actress has plenty to celebrate in addition to a successful surgery, as her new show Firefly Lane is in the talks for a renewal of Season 2.
