Katy Perry is navigating parenthood for the first time with Orlando Bloom, and she opened up about her experiences so far during a recent interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live. During their conversation, Perry admitted that it was sometimes hard for her, knowing that Bloom has experienced parenthood before with his ex. For the “Roar” singer, that knowledge is equal parts helpful and and difficult to hear.
Talking to Jimmy Kimmel, Perry said that having her daughter, Daisy Dove, was the "best decision" she has ever made.
She explained, "It's the best decision I've ever made in my entire life. I have family and support, and I've got an incredible fiancé who has done this before—he has a 10-year-old son."

She admitted that it is helpful to hear about her fiance's ex and their experiences parenting together. However, that does not make it any less challenging.
The American Idol judge explained, "So, as much as I was a little bit like, 'I don't need to hear all those stories,' they actually helped. They're like, 'Oh, you've had a run at this. You know how to do this.'"
She also gushed about her relationship with Bloom. "He's been amazing, incredible, and we're so in love and we're so grateful," Perry said.
He helped her through the birthing process as well. The singer explained, "He was such a great support. We had, like, a little boombox. He was there, and he was so wonderful and just holding my hands and looking into my eyes."
