I’m about to tell you something that will make you feel old: “American Idol” is 20 years old! The popular singing competition series celebrate their 20th anniversary during round auditions last week–and judge Katy Perry celebrated in style on Instagram. The “Firework” singer opted for a show-stopping skintight orange latex dress to commemorate the show being on the air for so long. All we can say is WOW!
The mom of Daisy Dove showed off her incredible body on Instagram October 19th in celebration of the show’s milestone. Our jaws are STILL on the floor after seeing the form-fitting dress. She hasn’t aged a day!
“Year 20 is underway and mama ain’t here to play,” she captioned the post, crediting Jesus Guerrero for her hair, makeup artist Michael Anthony and stylist Tatiana Waterford. It does take a village!

Similar latex dresses have become Katy’s signature as of late; she just stepped out in a black leather dress with fiancé Orlando Bloom for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures Opening Gala this week. And who could forget the PVC dress she wore on the show over the summer and joked was very, um, nosy at the time. “If you think that I’m farting on live television, I’m not. It’s just gonna be my dress,” the singer joked.
The dress also features a thigh-high slit that also looks like it could be rife for on-air accidents–wardrobe malfunctions, that is. Celebrity high-slit dresses are getting more and more insane, and this look of Perry’s is no exception. Unfortunately, the superstar didn’t take any brands on her look, so we’re not sure what designer created this memorable look–but we bet we’re about to see more of it!

The “American Idol” Instagram account used the sultry snap to wish Katy a happy birthday on her big day yesterday, October 25th. Seriously–she’s aging in reverse. Happy birthday, K!
