Kelly Clarkson surprised her fans when she stayed seated during a taping of The Kelly Clarkson Show.
The 38-year-old typically moves around during the show, but an unfortunate injury kept Kelly in her seat (with her leg elevated) during her first ever holiday show.
The host admitted that she had hurt her ACL while rushing to get everything together for the episode.
Clarkson explained, "So, you’re probably wondering why I’m sitting in a chair, because usually I start standing."
"Well, this is our first holiday show, woo! I was really excited about it, and we were running late.I don’t like to be late, so I was running in my heel, which was a bad decision because apparently, I turned a corner and possibly did something to my ACL."
Clarkson also quipped that her injury only made sense in rounding off 2020.
"So fun! So, 2020, just the gift that keeps on giving. It’s a really good year," she joked.
Like most, Clarkson has had a challenging year.
In June, the singer filed for divorce from her husband of seven years, Brandon Blackstock, citing "irreconcilable differences."
