Kelly Clarkson, 41, seems to have delivered on her promise, as her new album Chemistry is *full* of secrets about her divorce from music manager Brandon Blackstock, 46!

Kelly and Brandon tied the knot in 2013, and in June 2020, the Voice coach filed for divorce, with an insider telling US Weekly: “They clashed on so many levels, and being in quarantine together [during the coronavirus pandemic] heightened their problems to the point of no return.” Kelly has already been very open with her fans about her painful divorce, including how it was affecting their two children, daughter River Rose, 9, and son Remington Alexander, 7. But it seems like she was saving the best and juiciest secrets for her highly-anticipated new album!

Kelly Clarkson Sings About Brandon Blackstock Taking Her Money

Kelly references money in quite a few songs on the album. In the song "Red Flag Collector" (we love the name by the way!) Kelly talks about the divorce settlement and her decision to change her name legally to just Kelly Brianne (although of course she will stay as Kelly Clarkson professionally.)

She sings: "Sure, you can have the towels / You can take my money / Drag my name 'round town / I don’t mind, I changed it anyway." In the chorus, the Kelly Clarkson Show host seems to also refer to their battle over their Montana ranch, singing: "So run your mouth, puff your chest / Play cowboy in the wild, wild west. I don’t mind, take what’s left / High road livin' is what I do best."

The track "I Hate Love," which the American Idol alum previously confessed is one she wrote when she was really angry, she references the divorce settlement once again, hinting that her ex "took it all." She sings: "Beatin' my head against a wall / Little by little, you took it all / Love’s no friend of mine / Countin’ your blеssings on my back."

What Else Does Kelly Clarkson Sing About In 'Chemistry?'

Money is just the beginning, as Kelly also references her ex stealing her shine in "Mine," singing: "I hope one day someone will take your heart and hold it tight / Make you feel like you’re invincible deep inside / And right when you think that it’s perfect, they cross a line / And steal your shine like you did mine."

In the song "Me," Kelly seems to hint that an ex (whether or not it's Brandon is not actually clear, but we sure can speculate!) had huge insecurities which ultimately led to the "death" of their relationship. She sings: "I don’t need somebody to hold me / Don’t need somebody to love me / Don’t need somebody to pick these pieces up / I put together my broken / Let go of the pain I’vе been holdin’ / Don’t need to need somebody / When I got me."

We think it's very likely that she was referring to the music manager, as he was reportedly insecure about Kelly's success. "She was the high-income earner with a wildly successful talk show, and is the star of another hit show The Voice. Brandon was extremely jealous of it and made her know it," a source previously told Us Weekly.
