Kelly Clarkson Breaks Down In Tears As Surprise Guest Joins Her On Stage At Las Vegas Show–See The Emotional Moment
August 23, 2023 by Marissa Matozzo
Kelly Clarkson captivated audiences in Las Vegas this month with her stunning vocals and powerful performances as part of her ten-night residency. Her third night, however, may have been the most memorable and heartwarming thanks to a special guest, and someone who fans of The Kelly Clarkson Show will recognize.
The “Mine” singer, 41, delivered an evening full of both new music and live renditions of tracks that spanned over her two-decade career. The “Chemistry…an Intimate Night with Kelly Clarkson” show at Planet Hollywood’s Bakkt Theater saw the former Voice coach don a sparkly black-and-silver, plunging dress and she styled her tresses into a high ponytail.
The “Since U Been Gone” hitmaker was joined on stage by 12-year-old Sadaya Paige, who has septo-optic dysplasia and was born completely blind.
This inspiring young singer first shared her story and impressive vocal talent on Clarkson’s namesake talk show in March, and she performed “Rise Up” by Andra Day alongside Clarkson during her third residency show. The duet had Clarkson in tears as the crowd erupted in a standing ovation.
Clarkson told the audience: “If you don’t feel moved, you need to get help. Because you’re dead inside.” (Honestly, we can’t imagine there being a dry eye in the venue!)
Other notable moments from Clarkson’s show include her adding her two kids‘ favorite songs from her discography to her setlist, as her daughter River, 9, loves “Heartbeat Song,” and her son Remy, 7, is a fan of her track, “Whole Lotta Woman.”
Clarkson also made time for selfies with fans, opened up more about her tumultuous split and divorce from Brandon Blackstock (whom she shares both children with) and also even walked through the sea of concertgoers while singing her classic, “Breakaway.”
Lucky fans who attended her recent shows commended her residency, deeming it to be “unforgettable,” “heartrending,” “amazing” and “powerful” on social media.
