Kelly Clarkson’s messy divorce from ex-husband Brandon Blackwell only continues to get worse as the pair duke it out over the Montana ranch that Blackwell has been living in since their initial split. Back in October, Clarkson was awarded sole ownership of the property in court, and is now moving to hire a private divorce judge to determine how to move forward.

The split, and allocation of respective items, has evidently been more public than the 39-year-old singer would have liked, and Radar News reported that Clarkson has hired retired judge Scott Gordon to take over the case. According to court documents, Gordon’s role will be to oversee “all matters until the final determination of the case.”

Blackstock has been adamant about taking ownership of the Montana ranch even since the judge made his final ruling in favor of Clarkson, and the singer has moved to take their issues private after she took “live testimony” that her ex wanted to "testify as to the issues raised by Petitioner’s Request for Order that he vacate the” ranch.

Blackstock’s supposed claim to the ranch is that he quit his music management job to work on the property full time earlier this year, but as the home was purchased with Clarkson’s money alone, the judge ruled for this property, as well as two others, to fall under her sole ownership.

Despite the tumultuous details of their split, Clarkson and Blackstock share two children, River Rose and Remington, whom they continue to co-parent. However, Clarkson was awarded primary physical custody of the kids, who are currently living with the singer and talk show host in LA.
