Kelly Clarkson and ex-husband Brandon Blackstock’s lengthy battle over the Warren Peak Ranch in Montana is finally over – although it hasn’t ended in the way the 39-year-old “Since U Been Gone” singer would have wanted. According to court documents filed at the Los Angeles County Superior Court on Thursday, January 20th, which were obtained by People, Clarkson has been ordered to give her ex-husband 5.12% of the property which has been valued at an eye-watering $17,750,000.

However, it’s important to note that the property will remain in The Voice coach’s name, meaning she has full legal ownership of it. “Brandon’s separate property ownership interest in the Warren Peak Ranch is 5.12%,” the court documents state. “The parties agree that Brandon’s 5.12% ownership interest in the Warren Peak Ranch is $908,800.”

If you'll recall, the exes have been fighting over the Montana ranch since Clarkson filed for divorce in June 2020 after seven years of marriage. The "Stronger" singer was awarded the ranch in October, however, the 45-year-old music manager argued that he still resided in the property (and Clarkson was unsuccessful in trying to take legal action to evict him) and insisted that it was classed as "marital property" and therefore not included in their prenuptial agreement.

"Kelly recently had a major legal setback in a bid to get Brandon evicted from the Montana property that the judge awarded solely to her," an insider told Us Weekly last month. "He has been living in it and said he doesn’t have the financial means to afford to purchase a residence of his own at this time, citing the unresolved financial aspect of their divorce."

However, the court rejected Blackstock's argument that the ranch, along with two other properties owned by the American Idol winner, was marital property. As per the court documents: "The court therefore rejects Blackstock’s position that the Montana ranch and other Montana properties are marital property owned 50/50 by the parties."

Let's hope that Clarkson's luck will start to get better once she starts dating again. Sources close to the "I Dare You" singer have said that she hasn’t even started thinking about moving on since the divorce, telling HollywoodLife: "Kelly had no desire to even think about dating throughout the course of her divorce from Brandon. Not only because of the pandemic, but because she had so much going on and she was dealing with a huge life transition." Now that the Montana ranch chapter has finally closed, perhaps Kelly will start considering moving on…
