Kelly Clarkson Reportedly Said Brandon Blackstock Wasn’t A ‘Partner’ Even When They Were Married: ‘She Felt Single’

Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock captured public attention when they ended their seven-year marriage in 2020, having shared two children. Their separation once again made news in 2022 when the divorce was finalized. Recently, an insider disclosed that the Kelly Clarkson Show host, 42, had felt as though she was alone and lacked a true companion during her marriage to the producer, 48.

As an insider recently dished to Page Six: “As time went on in their marriage, Kelly didn’t feel like she had a partner.” They added: “Kelly felt single in a lot of ways even while she and Brandon were still married.” The Grammy winner and manager share two children: daughter River, 10, and son Remington, 8.

The tipster added that Clarkson (who first met Blackstock in 2006) often "attended school events for the kids by herself" when she was married to Blackstock, and when "other parents would attend with both the mom and the dad."

They added that the "Since U Been Gone" hitmaker "was so grateful when she was granted primary custody of her children because they’re her whole world."

In November 2020, the "Breakaway" singer was granted primary custody of her two children with Blackstock. The two finalized their divorce in March 2022, and he was directed to vacate her Montana ranch by June 2022.

During the summer of 2023, the "Because of You" artist relocated to New York City with her kids, preparing for the fifth season of her self-titled talk show.

The aforementioned source continued: "Kelly has no regrets since moving to New York, she loves her life there and the kids love it too." This month, Clarkson's show got the green light for a seventh season.

According to the source, the American Idol winner eagerly anticipates her future and the ongoing growth of her career in daytime television. "She’s so grateful her show was renewed for a seventh season and she’s excited for what’s next," they explained.
