“Do I have a boyfriend? No! And not looking. You know why? I love being single,” the Grammy winner, 41, said in the clip shared on September 22nd. The Kelly Clarkson Show host continued: “I have two kids, two dogs, three rabbits, a hamster, multiple jobs — there’s a lot going on.”
Kelly Clarkson Gets Candid About Wanting To Stay Single After Her Divorce
In the video, Clarkson further explained: "You know, you think you’re going to spend the rest of your life with somebody, and you don’t. That’s hard to start over." The timing and likelihood of the American Idol alum returning to the dating scene remains uncertain following her divorce, with the singer jesting in December 2021 that she will be "single forever" after such a rollercoaster split.
The "Since U Been Gone" hitmaker's divorce from music manager Blackstock, 46, was settled back in March 2022. The former couple wed in 2013 and were together until June 2020. They share two children: son Remington Alexander, 7, and daughter River Rose, 9.
During her talk show’s 2020 season premiere, Clarkson revealed to viewers that she "didn’t see" her divorce coming and has been open about her healing journey ever since.
In June of this year, she released her tenth studio album, Chemistry, with songs and lyrics inspired by heartbreak, self-love and similar themes that resonated with many fans on social media.
In the middle of the pandemic, Clarkson initiated divorce proceedings against Blackstock, bringing an end to their almost seven-year union.
The subsequent legal proceedings involved disagreements over child custody and the Montana ranch they owned together. However, the couple eventually resolved their differences and finalized their divorce almost two years later.
Clarkson, along with her two children, relocated to New York City after their separation so that she could host her self-titled talk show there.

In another recent Instagram Live video, the former Voice coach divulged to her followers that relocating to the Big Apple has been the ideal choice for her, as it played a significant role in her recovery and "helped" her regain her footing.
"I love living here, and I’m a Texas girl, so I did not think I was gonna love it so much. But you will see this face all the time at the park. I love walking around," she said.
She also noted that her kids "love it so much," as well. "They love getting on the subway. My son doesn’t allow us to stand near him, so he looks like he’s by himself. He’s 7! I was like, 'OK' and he’s like, 'No, I’m alone,'" the "Heartbeat Song" crooner joked. "But I love it here. I think it’s what you surround yourself with."
