We previously reported that Kelly Clarkson will be moving her family and her popular talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, from LA to NYC—and it seems the singer will be doing more in the Big Apple than hosting daytime television!
In an interview on TalkShopLive, Kelly not only revealed the reasoning behind the big move, but even further plans she has for the big city: "I’m in love with theatre and Broadway and all of that, and I never thought I’d get a chance to do anything like that, so eventually I would love to do something," said Kelly, adding that she’s "in the works of, like, writing something [for Broadway] right now."

Fans Comment: 'Kelly Clarkson Is Gonna Get That Tony'
Fans of the American Idol star are absolutely over the moon at the news of a possible Kelly Clarkson-penned Broadway musical: "I HAVE BEEN DREAMING OF THIS!!!" enthused one Twitter user on a post about the news by BroadwayWorld.
"EGOT status imminent," wrote another, referencing the rarified group of entertainers that have scored an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. Some of the only 18 competitive EGOT winners include Rita Moreno, Whoopi Goldberg, John Legend, and Viola Davis. To date, Kelly has scored both the required Grammys and several Daytime Emmy Awards.
Others made the same observation: "Future EGOT winner," wrote one commenter. Others agreed—"QUEEN GETTING HER EGOT STATUS," and "Kelly coming for that T in EGOT" added other fans.

The Kelly Clarkson Show Heading To NYC For Fifth Season
On its fourth season now, The Kelly Clarkson Show is gearing up for a big move from Los Angeles to New York City. It seems Kelly asked NBCUniversal to relocate her self-titled talk show’s production to the East Coast so that she could be geographically closer to her family. Kelly told TalkShowLive that, after going through the coronavirus pandemic, she realized “being isolated and so far from your family…that’s not good for anyone.” The host continued, “My family is East Coast, they’re North Carolina based. So it was one of those things where I just had to.”
A big reason for the move was also a "fresh start" for her kids—the Voice judge's divorce from Brandon Blackstock recently was finalized, prompting the desire for a coastal switch and a clean slate.
The Kelly Clarkson Show has been massively successful since its launch in Fall 2019, scoring 13 total Daytime Emmy Awards, including for Outstanding Talk Show Entertainment and Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host for Kelly in 2020, 2021, and 2022.
