August 18, 2022 by Maria Pierides
She may not be on the upcoming season of The Voice (and yes, we’re still upset about it!) but Kelly Clarkson has found another way to give talented and undiscovered singers their chance to shine, as the Kelly Clarkson Show has just launched a nationwide search to find the former Voice coach a “Kellyoke” singing partner. Yes, really!
The Kellyoke Search Bus *we’re living for this name!* will be stopping in New York City, Chicago, Dallas, and Los Angeles from August 21st to September 7th, giving fans the opportunity to wow the show with Kelly’s classic hit, “Since U Been Gone.” Hopefuls shouldn’t fret if they can’t make it to any of the above locations though, as they can also upload their renditions to TikTok on August 21st using the hashtag #KellyokeSearch.” They really have thought of everything!
“Hey, what’s up, America? Have you ever wanted to sing a duet with me? I thought so. Well, your chance is finally here,” the 40-year-old former American Idol winner said in a video, which was posted on her Instagram account on August 16th. “This summer we’re taking The Kelly Clarkson Show on the road to find some of the greatest voices across America and virtually on TikTok using the hashtag #KellyokeSearch,” she added. And her fans instantly flocked to the comments section to praise the talent search, as well as put themselves and sometimes even their loved ones forward!
“I think this is a brilliant idea for the show,” one fan praised, followed by the hand clapping emoji. “Oh my gosh!!,” exclaimed another. “OMG I would die to sing with you I sing and love you so let’s do this,” another excited fan added. “I would loooooove to!!!” commented another. Looks like there’s going to be no shortage of applicants – we can’t wait to see what happens!
