It’s no secret that Kelly Clarkson has lost a lot of weight recently – and she’s been showing off her new slender frame on every single episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show. If we looked that good, we would do the same!
Many people have been wondering what inspired the 41-year-old “Mine” singer to embark on her weight loss journey, with several fans thinking it was a post-divorce revenge body glow up. However, that isn’t actually the case…
Kelly Clarkson Reveals The Real Reason She Went On A Weight Loss Journey
Ex-husband Brandon Blackstock kicking himself is obviously an added bonus, but the American Idol alum confessed that she felt like she had to lose weight because of a warning from doctors. She revealed that medics told her she was pre-diabetic around two years ago, before finally deciding to "do something about it."
On a recent episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the "Because of You" singer was speaking to actor Kevin James, who complimented her on her appearance. She then revealed, "Well, I was told I was pre-diabetic. That's literally what happened. I wasn't shocked. I was a tiny bit overweight."
She continued telling the King of Queens actor: "But I wasn't shocked by it. They were like, 'You're pre-diabetic. You're right on the borderline.' And I was like, 'But I'm not there yet…' Then I waited two years and then I was like, 'OK,' I'll do something about it."
Kelly Clarkson Reveals Weight Loss Secrets
Everyone is wondering how the former The Voice coach lost so much weight, with many speculating that she is on Ozempic, the diabetic weight loss drug turned Hollywood trend that many celebrities are using, including Oprah Winfrey, Sharon Osbourne, and Amy Schumer, among others.
However, the talk show host just shut down those rumors in a recent interview with People, saying that she lost all the weight by following a high protein diet and walking a lot. In her cover story with the magazine, the "Stronger" hitmaker talked about moving to NYC from LA, divorce, and her new healthy life. She explained that she had to relocate from LA to NYC for her "mental health," and that she's loving living in the Big Apple. She credited exploring her new home with part of her weight loss.
"Walking in the city is quite the workout," she told the mag. She spends her non-working days doing just that with her kids, River Rose and Remington Alexander, who she shares with her ex-husband. "We go walk the dogs a few times at the park," she said of how she spends the day with them.
Walking isn't the only thing that's helped her shed the pounds. "I eat a healthy mix," she explained. "I dropped weight because I've been listening to my doctor – a couple years I didn't. And 90% of the time I'm really good at it because a protein diet is good for me anyway. I'm a Texas girl, so I like meat – sorry vegetarians in the world!"
Fans Don't Buy Kelly's Weight Loss Story
Many fans took to social media to share their thoughts on Kelly's story of losing weight. While some were very happy for the "Since U Been Gone" singer, others didn't quite believe the story she was telling. "Not buying what you are selling Kelly!" one user posted at the time.
"She is LYING," another person said. "There is no way she dropped all that weight that quickly without the aid of meds." "Why can't she just be honest about jumping on the Ozempic train?" another person asked. "I don't believe her," another user commented. "She is using one of the Ozempic type diet drugs. She's had issues with her weight for a long time, and all of the sudden she's lost it all at the same time Ozempic comes out? Nope. She's lying."
But others were simply happy that Kelly is happy. "She looks happy, and I think that has helped her lose weight," one fan said. "And if she is using it, so what? She is now healthy and happy." "Why does it matter how she lost the weight?" another fan asked. "The point is that she's now at a healthy weight, which will prevent other serious diseases. I say good for you!"
