Kelly Clarkson’s Devastating ‘Voice’ Announcement—Fans Are Heartbroken Over This News!

It’s just been announced that Kelly Clarkson will not be on the brand new season of NBC’s The Voice; and as you can imagine, her fans are well and truly devastated! The 40-year-old “Since U Been Gone” singer, who has been sitting on the famous swivel chair since 2014 (and had several winning acts may we add – Brynn Cartelli, Chevel Shepherd, Jake Hoot, and Girl Named Tom who won just last season!) will not be a coach on season 22, as the show revealed who its coaches for the new season will be, and Kelly’s name was noticeably absent! And her fans were *not* happy!
“Ok then. I will be back once Kelly is back,” one fan wrote. “Really disappointed to see @kellyclarkson not returning! I will still watch for @blakeshelton but it won’t be the same without her!!” another Kelly stan commented. “Seriously? Where is @kellyclarkson? “She makes the show so much fun. We all love her and want her back!!!” exclaimed another, followed by the double heart emoji.
Although Clarkson hasn’t been fired from the show, it’s believed that she wanted to be “taking time” for herself this summer, which meant a well-deserved break as a coach. She didn’t directly address her absence on The Voice per se, but Clarkson *did* mention taking a break when she appeared on Elvis Duran and the Morning Show. “I literally said ‘no’ to everything this summer,” the “Because of You” singer said. “I will not do anything this summer. Since I was 16 years old, I haven’t had a summer off. This is my first summer off. I am taking time.” We can’t say that we blame her!
So who will be replacing Clarkson on the new season? The Voice made the shock announcement about its new coaches on Twitter on Sunday, May 15th, writing: “Give a warm welcome to your Voice Coaches. #TheVoice returns this fall with @blakeshelton @johnlegend @gwenstefani @Camila_Cabello.”
