Although Ripa has been home with her husband Mark Consuelos and their three children, she’s been missing her parents that she has not been able to see in weeks due to the pandemic. But things haven’t been very stress-free at home.
Ripa told her co-host, “I’m going to let you in on a little secret: I’m currently not speaking to two of my three kids right now, OK?” Ripa further admitted, “I’m not talking to two of them because…just because, we’re all in the same boat together, right? Like, I haven’t gotten to hug my parents…I want to hug my parents. I miss hugging my parents. And my kids, like, won’t hug me. And I’m like, ‘Guys we’ve all been in lockdown together. We’re fine. You can give me a hug. It’s fine.'”
Ripa says her kids won’t hug her because they don't want to get her sick. Unfortunately, this is the current reality for meaning families across the globe currently. Families and friends are no longer able to spend time together for fear of infection.
Like a trooper, Ripa carries on despite her personal woes at home. Instead of wallowing in her sorrow, she manages to turn the situation and offer her audience a laugh. “Anyway, I’m sorry. I don’t know why I’m crying,” said Ripa. “Maybe I’m just going to get my period, who knows? Sorry…did I shout that? Did my inner monologue come out?” Oh, Kelly...keep us all laughing through it all.
