Fashion editors weren’t lying when they said that we should all invest in a trench coat, as it’s a wardrobe staple that will never go out of style! Trench coats are one of the most versatile pieces in any capsule closet, as they can be dressed up or down with ease!
Many of our favorite A-list style mavens are all too aware of the power of the humble trench coat, be it in a black color or a more neutral tan hue that would also look perfect in the spring; and we are all too happy to seek sartorial inspiration from them now that we are well into the fall season. Here’s how Kendall Jenner and Angelina Jolie have been rocking their trench coats recently…
Kendall Jenner
Kendall Jenner made a case for the mini trench coat – i.e., your standard trench coat but at a much shorter length – during an appearance at the Gucci Spring 2024 show at Milan Fashion Week, which she attended with rumored boyfriend Bad Bunny.
It might not be the best option for keeping out the chill, but it certainly does the job when it comes to looking super-stylish! The 818 Tequila founder flaunted her endless supermodel pins in the mini trench coat by choosing to wear nothing else underneath (that’s how it seemed to onlookers, anyway) and accessorized with dark red pumps and a matching dark red bag on her shoulder. We love how the belt was cinched in at the waist to provide a super-flattering silhouette!
Angelina Jolie
Fans who aren’t fond of the Kardashians star's mini trench variation will likely be more inspired by Angelina Jolie's longer and darker version. It also seems to do a much better job at keeping out the cold, while highlighting her tiny waist and accentuating her slim figure.
The Oscar-winner showed how chic and sophisticated the trench coat can be when she rocked a black version while leaving the Mark Hotel in NYC on July 18th – yes, the Eternals star loves trench coats *so much* she was even wearing hers in the height of summer! The mom-of-six finished off her monochromatic outfit with a matching blouse and midi skirt, as well as classic Chanel ballet flats.
