Is Kevin Costner Dating Jewel Following His Divorce?
The rumored couple reportedly first got close when their mutual friend Richard Branson invited them both to Necker Island for Thanksgiving last month.
According to the Daily Mail, insiders explained that the Dances with Wolves actor and the "You Were Meant For Me" singer are "not serious" at the moment, and are simply "having fun" together, noting that Jewel fell for Costner's "country western vibe" on Branson's Caribbean island.
Richard Branson Is '100% Responsible For Kevin And Jewel Hooking Up'
Although he didn't intend to play matchmaker for the couple, who reportedly hit it off "organically" while on his island, the 73-year-old business tycoon is certainly partly "responsible" for it.
"Richard is 100% responsible for Kevin and Jewel hooking up. She has been a friend of Branson's for years, and he has been a close friend of Kevin's since the 1990s," the insider shared, adding: "Richard invited Jewel to hold her charity fund-raiser on Necker and, honestly, the hookup happened organically. They hit it off well, and Jewel seems to be happy about it."
The insider went on to say that Jewel's friends "can see a light in her that hasn't been there in quite some time." Aww!
Jewel Reportedly 'Wants A Good Man' And Costner 'Fits The Bill'
Another source reportedly recently told TMZ that the relationship is "rather new," adding their spark on Necker Island was almost impossible to ignore.
"There was definitely something going on. They were flirty. And when they were together, it was like they both just lit up," the insider said. Another source told the outlet: "You could tell they were trying to be discreet, but anybody who saw them could tell something was going on."
Costner recently settled his bitter divorce from Baumgartner, who he was married to for 18 years, while Jewel split with American nine-time World Champion professional rodeo cowboy Ty Murray back in 2014. An insider told TMZ that Jewel is extremely "picky," adding, "She wants a good man, and Kevin fits the bill."
