Khloé Kardashian has successfully changed her and ex Tristan Thompson‘s baby boy’s name through legal means. Initially, the Good American founder, 39, had listed her son’s name as Baby Kardashian on his birth certificate as she had not decided on a name at that point in time. However, recent documents obtained by People Magazine confirm that the name has now been legally altered. After receiving a favorable ruling from a Los Angeles county judge last week, the 13-month-old has been officially named Tatum Thompson.

Under California law, parents have the option to choose the last name for their newborn. The choice may be the father's last name, the mother's last name, or a combination of both. This decision is final unless a court order mandates otherwise.
In July of 2022, Kardashian and Thompson, 32, celebrated the arrival of their son. Additionally, the couple share 5-year-old daughter, True. Last year, Kardashian disclosed that she had welcomed Tatum through surrogacy.
In May 2023, during season three of The Kardashians, the reality star unveiled her son's name for the first time and subsequently delved into her challenges with forming a connection with her child after the surrogate birth.
In a show of solidarity with her daughter, mom Kris Jenner offered words of encouragement to Kardashian, advising her to be kinder to herself as she navigates the challenges of motherhood.
During a confessional filmed for the show, Kardashian said: "I wish I wasn't so critical of myself, because I'm very kind to everyone else, I'm just not very kind to myself. But being a mom is truly one of, just the most magical experiences ever."
Last month, Kardashian and Thompson celebrated Tatum's first birthday with an epic outer space-themed bash. On Instagram, Kardashian sweetly wrote to her son: wrote to her son: "Happy birthday, my sweet son! I am a firm believer in that God gives you what you need and I needed you. God knew my heart needed you. I needed your sweet and precious Smile. I needed your angelic spirit. I needed a love only you could give me. I needed my son."
She went on, writing in a post caption for her 311 million followers: "I am so proud to be your mommy. So proud of the love and laughter we have in our house. So proud of your beautiful, gentle, loving, infectious spirit. You light up every single room. There’s no denying that Everyone smiles when they look at you! Especially True, she is so proud to call you hers. Tatum, You have changed mine and True’s lives forever. We both needed you. I knew she would be a fantastic, loving older sister, but I don’t think I ever could’ve imagined the love and bond you guys already have."
