Fans have criticized Kim Kardashian – and the Kardashians post-production team – for seemingly wiping away “fake tears” in the latest episode of the hit Hulu show.

In the highly-anticipated first episode of the second season, the 41-year-old Skims founder can be seen getting emotional in her confessional interview when talking about younger sister Khloé Kardashian’s relationship history, and her wish for her to find true love following Tristan Thompson’s latest infidelity. So emotional, in fact, that she had to wipe away tears at one point! However, eagle-eyed fans have questioned the validity of the tears, with many accusing the mom-of-four of *pretending* to cry, and accusing the Kardashians team of adding the “fake” teardrop in post-production. Wow!

The accusation first started on TikTok (where else?!) where a user named Michelle Driscoll shared a now-viral clip of Kim dabbing her eyes to wipe away her tears, but does not actually remove them, with the caption: “Y’all please tell me you see this cgi tear on kardashians.” Driscoll then exclaims: “She doesn’t touch it! That’s a fake tear!”

“Ngl I had the same thought when I watched,” one user commented, which another echoed, writing, “Omg I thought I was the only one that caught that. I was like, does she not feel that tear? I’m confused lol.” Another user asked: “Honestly, who gets a tear in the center of their eye???”

Other users were a little more open-minded, with many wondering whether Kim didn’t want to wipe away the tear or tears so as not to mess up her makeup. "Maybe she didn’t wipe it to not mess up her makeup?" one user suggested, which another seemed to agree with, adding, "Definitely a real tear, but Kim knew exactly what she was doing by avoiding touching it so it would look good on cam." "If you touch it the tear will ruin the makeup. If you just let it fall it won’t ruin it as much," confirmed another.

Many others accused the TikTok user of "reaching" writing: "Did you stretch before doing all this reaching?" "You can see it welling up in her eye before it drops. This is such a reach omg," agreed another. "Yall literally watch everything they do just to find anything to hate over. Obsessed behavior," commented yet another fan.
