Almost all of Hollywood’s biggest A-listers attended the Fourth Annual Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in LA on October 19th.
Nicole Kidman, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Demi Moore, and so many more stars dazzled on the red carpet, making it feel like an Oscar afterparty!
However, one celeb who truly stood out was, to no one’s surprise, Kim Kardashian. The SKIMS founder took a modern twist to classic Hollywood glamour, but her ensemble had fans divided.
Kim Kardashian Wears A White Corset And Long Cape For The Academy Museum Gala
Staying true to her fashion choice, the mother of four rocked an archival structured white corset bodysuit paired with a matching long cape from Mugler’s 1998 couture collection.
The corset piece featured a plunging neckline and extended hip details. Her cape draped behind her and swept the floor. Kanye West's ex-wife paired the all-white look with a diamond necklace and earrings, along with PVC pumps.
To elevate her old Hollywood look, the actress styled her dark locks in loose waves with a deep side part, complemented by soft pink blush and silver eyeshadow.
Fans of the old Hollywood era were not impressed, with many calling the outfit "cheap" and "tacky."
Fans Call Kim Kardashian's Old Hollywood Look At The Academy Museum Gala 'Tacky'
One person said, "This is not old Hollywood glamour! This is tacky and classless."
Another user added, "Sorry, how is that old Hollywood glamour? I can't think of a single star that would have dressed like that during the glamour years."
"It looks so cheap," one person added.
"The only old Hollywood thing about this look is her hair. They wore gowns, not onesies, to public events in 'old Hollywood.'"
"The Kardashian name and 'glamour' should never be used in the same sentence or paragraph," commented someone else.
"This is hardly old Hollywood. Old Hollywood had modesty and class. Which she does not," another user noted. Yikes!
