Kim Kardashian’s Huge Career Announcement—Fans Didn’t See This Coming!

From the ongoing Kimye drama to the new additions of Julia Fox and Pete Davidson into the mix, it’s certainly hard to keep up with Kim Kardashian news. One notable new announcement, however, is that the fashion mogul is now the face of luxury Spanish fashion house Balenciaga (aka Kanye West’s favorite brand).

Balenciaga’s Instagram account posted a photo of Kardashian posing on a couch while dressed in a monochromatic, head-to-toe outfit flaunting their designs. Fans immediately headed to the comment section on February 1st to prove that this team-up seems aptly timed, and the tea is piping hot!

It’s important to note that Kardashian has historically always loved Balenciaga ensemble pieces (remember her entirely-covered, masked Met Gala look and the hot pink jumpsuit she donned as the host of Saturday Night Live last fall?), but her ex-husband has a notable history with the brand, too. This, fans think, makes this seem like a career move with several intentions.

Last week, the brand deleted all of their Instagram posts and replaced them with their latest campaign starring Kardashian, Justin Bieber and models Isabelle Huppert, Tommy Blue and Marie Agnès Diene. The photos were taken by Stef Mitchell and showed the reality star in her own Calabasas home, wearing Balenciaga’s L/S fitted top, athletic cut leggings, sock booties and the neon green Le Cagole shoulder bag (the only non-black item she wore).

For jewelry, she rocked the brand’s silver cut ear cuff and cut XS earrings. Her raven locks were slicked back into a tight braid and her makeup included her signature contoured look with a sharp winged cat-eye and a nude lip. She posed on her white couch and lifted her hand (with her phone in it) in the air, suggesting she was about to take another epic selfie.

The caption read “Kim for Balenciaga” and the post thousands of likes. Comments on the post were limited but some from fans stuck out. While many quick to point out how beautiful she looks in the photos, others hinted at her ongoing tribulations with West. “Y’all know what y’all doing bro,” wrote one. “Interesting brand choice, Kim,” wrote another, “wonder why you picked this one right now.”

In their second Kardashian-starring photo, she wore the Hourglass coat in black over her previous ensemble and switched out her bag for the Hourglass top handle bag in white. This time, she slipped her feet into the Pantaleggings pointy toe knife heel and added bat sunglasses and rib earrings.

Her third photo for the campaign showed her in another version of the Hourglass coat with a chic leopard pattern over her black outfit and the Le Cagole bag in black.

As you probably already know, Ye’s new girlfriend has stepped out in a lot of Balenciaga too, but as one fan wrote, “the brand ultimately chose his ex-wife to represent them.” (We’d say we wonder what the rapper is thinking, but he’s likely to share his thoughts on his Instagram at any point).

Ah, so the Kimye-Fox-Davidson saga continues, with lots of cryptic Instagram posts, social media call-outs and well-dressed appearances from everyone involved. One thing is for sure, however, Balenciaga silhouettes always look amazing on the middle Kardashian sister!
